The ‘about me’ section (cue dramatic music).
I promise to keep it short and only mildly awkward.

Hi there, i’m Michael.

I’m a product designer who believes good design should solve real problems and feel effortless while doing it, even if it takes a few dozen versions to get there. I keep things simple, purposeful, and grounded in real user needs (not just opinions). I'm big on accessibility, consistency, validating with the intended user (I know crazy right?) and turning vague problems into clear, buildable solutions.

I’ve had the chance to work across a broad mix of industries, education, automotive, charity, news, and recruitment. I’ve learned a lot along the way and keep aiming to get better every day. I’m happiest solving the right problem, not just pushing pixels and I try to keep a sense of humour along the way.

Currently navigating the AI madness and quietly hoping Skynet stays fictional.

Proud father to two beautiful souls.
I drum in a Batucada group (yes, it’s loud), playing rhythms from Portuguese-speaking countries.
Happiest when exploring new places with my wife and cooking meals for family and friends.
